Instead of celebrating Shrove Tuesday in the evening, we are celebrating on Sunday, February 19, after the 10 AM service, in the Parish Hall, during hospitality/coffee hour time. In addition to the standard refreshments, we will have pancakes with a choice of butter, fruit, and syrup. There is a sign-up sheet for donations. Shrove Sunday/Tuesday, the time before Ash Wednesday (aka Mardi Gras), is when the fats and sweets were consumed before the observance of the yearly fast.

The local Lenten Walk will be at the California Botanic Garden (aka Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden) in Claremont, Saturday, March 4. This is usually a late morning, easy walk, and we would expect to be done by lunchtime. Meet at St. Ambrose Claremont.

The Joshua Tree Wilderness Experience is set for Saturday, March 25. This is a longer trip, usually with a group departure by 8 AM with a return in the late afternoon. Please bring your own lunch. Meet in the south parking lot of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Contact Craig Gillette.
