Dear Friends of Haiti,

I apologize for the lengthy silence.  I have been away and have just returned.  I am attaching a letter from the Rev. Pere Kesner Gracia, Partnership Coordinator for the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti.  As you may know, the Diocese of Haiti educates more Haitian children than any other entity in Haiti except the Roman Catholic Church.  Your partnerships are therefore a vital part of Haiti’s educational system and the future of its children.  I add my thanks to his for your faithful support!

Several of you have asked about Pere Jacques Deravil in Lascahobas, which was overrun by gangs recently.  He is currently taking refuge in one of his missions.  He needs to walk about twenty minutes to get phone reception, but if you are a friend and want to leave him a message, he will get it eventually.  We all give thanks that this good and kind man is safe.
