Dear Haiti Friends,

Today’s Haitian Times includes an article about Kenyan security officials currently meeting with the Haitian government and the National Police to discuss possible support under the aegis of the U.N.

May it be the help they need!

Another of today’s articles was about the annual celebration of Cap Haitien’s “birthday,” Fet Okap, always a bright spot in the year.  This is the city’s 353rd anniversary of its official founding in 1670.  The closing festivities took place at the Cormier Plage Hotel on the north coast over the hill from Cap Haitian, and I urge you to put this hotel on your bucket list for whenever travel is possible again.  You’ll be glad you did.  I’m not sure whether it’s open for general business right now, but when it is:  www.cormierhaiti.com.
