Dear Haiti Friends,
May the grace, peace, and goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you on this Thanksgiving Day.
As the American people enter this sacred season of gratitude, we unite our hearts with yours to give glory to God. With you and for you, we honor the Lord for the countless blessings He continues to pour upon the United States of America a nation richly blessed, profoundly generous, and consistently compassionate toward the most vulnerable.
On behalf of the Partnership Program Coordination, the clergy, the families, the teachers, and especially the children who benefit from your support, I wish to express our deepest gratitude.
In a book I recently read, I discovered the noble mission the United States once carried out in Greece: a mission of assistance, solidarity, and sharing of human, spiritual, and material resources with a people in great distress. In Haiti, we also consider ourselves blessed and fortunate to walk with you faithful partners who share with us the abundance of God’s blessings upon your nation and your lives.
Allow me to say this with sincerity and humility: without your faithful, unwavering, and unconditional support, we would not have been able to stand amid the disasters, multiple crises, and trials that have struck Haiti and brought our nation to its knees. Because of your commitment, we have been able to keep the doors of our schools, clinics, hospitals, birthing centers, vocational schools, and music schools open. You have helped secure the salaries of many employees, fed thousands of children, and sustained the hope of a more secure future for our sons and daughters, for our people today, and for generations to come.
All of this has been possible because you have chosen to share the richness of God’s blessings with the communities served by the Episcopal Church of Haiti. Your commitment is not only a humanitarian gesture; it is a testimony of faith, an act of evangelical charity, and a light shining upon our path in these difficult and darkest moments of our national history.
For all these reasons, we say THANK YOU for your open hearts. THANK YOU for your solidarity. THANK YOU for your loyal friendship.
On this special day, we celebrate with your gratitude, family, fellowship, and the blessing of God that unites us in one mission. Once again, from the depths of our hearts, we say: THANK YOU, AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
May God continue to bless each one of you abundantly. May He fill your lives with peace, joy, health, and prosperity. May He bless your families, your churches, your communities, and all the works you carry out with such great love.
Long live America! Long live Haiti!
With profound gratitude and pastoral affection,
Père Kesner Gracia
