Dear Haiti Friends,
Some good news for a change — Melchie “Corventina” Dumornay, a proud daughter of Mirebalais, Haiti, has been named by CONCACAF (Football (Soccer) in North and Central America and the Caribbean) as Women’s Player of the Year
The following is a sort of good news/bad news/good news from a UN observer:

And finally, Partners in Literacy for Haiti is seeking a volunteer (at present; hoping to be able to make it a salaried position at some point) Executive Director. Please see the description below.
TODAY we are officially launching the search for the new Executive Director of PILH with this Public Notice. Through listserv postings, we have already received resumés from 17 candidates expressing an interest, but no one who fits the need entirely. Our three major requirements are successful nonprofit leadership, proven fundraising results, and a love of children’s literacy.
Interviews have already begun, so please reach out to your possible candidates with haste and have them get in touch as described below. We will continue to work in Haiti and in the US with Haitian Book Corners and Libraries and books in Creole.
