Dear Haiti Friends,

I’m passing along information about this fundraiser (see below my signature) for two reasons:

1.  If you happen to be in Michigan or passing through in May, this is a good cause. HOM (haitioutreachmission.org) supports permanent and visiting clinics, mostly in the Mirebalais area, and gets involved in other community support activities as well.  Their work is coordinated through Pere Alphonse, the Episcopal priest in Mirebalais, and Pere Romel, the Roman Catholic priest, and now of course HOM seeks to support their work with refugees from Mirebalais.  The status of both churches and rectories is still unknown.

2.  This partnership is a collaboration between Episcopal churches and Catholic churches on both the U.S. and the Haiti side. HOM has been in existence for almost 30 years and is the principal support for Clinic St Pierre.  Their example of fruitful cooperation between denominations can open up our ideas as to who might make good local co-partners with us.
