Dear Haiti Friends,
From the Friends Committee on National Legislation, here is information on a workshop for people living in diaspora to help them organize, connect, support, and advocate on behalf of their homeland. If you have Haitian or Haitian-American friends in the US, please pass this along to them. Note that this is workshop is specifically for people living away from their homelands, and costs are covered by the FCNL. They do excellent work and often collaborate with the Episcopal Public Policy Network/Office of Government Relations.
Yours,

Dear Colleagues,
I’m reaching out to share an opportunity to apply for an upcoming in-person FCNL training for diaspora organizers in Washington, D.C. this September — and I’d be grateful if you would consider sharing this with others in your community who may be interested.
The third annual Diaspora Organizers Gathering will bring together advocates from various diaspora communities across the U.S. to build power, skills, and community. Participants will leave the event equipped with new tools to strengthen their advocacy, organize in their communities, and influence U.S. foreign policy. Travel, lodging, and food will be covered by FCNL.
Past cohorts have:
- Built lasting relationships with fellow advocates
- Strengthened their ability to organize at the grassroots level
- Gained skills to shape U.S. foreign policy through Congressional advocacy
If you’d like to hear more about past cohort’s experiences, you can read this blog post.

If you have any questions or want to learn more, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my colleague cc’d here, Isis Kazadi, our National Field Organizer.
